Synopsis:
Diamond Johnson is a single mother of two and comes from a dysfunctional family. She was abandoned by her deadbeat father and drug and alcohol abusing mother. They often left her and her only brother, Rodney, aka Rod, to fend for themselves, forcing them to grow up faster than they expected. Diamond raises two twin boys, with the help of her brother, after her kids’ father impregnates her and leaves her on her own.
After she loses Rod, Diamond becomes really close to an old co-worker named Naomi, who turns out to be all the support she has left. She works a helpless job, resides in the hood, and lives paycheck to paycheck to try and make ends meet… That is until Naomi convinces her to use what she has to get what she wants. Naomi introduces Diamond to the strip club where she works, to make ‘real money’ as she calls it.
At the club, Diamond runs into a big-time drug dealer named Trill. She sees Trill as her meal ticket and starts fucking with him for that reason only, with no intentions of building a relationship or catching feelings. She starts dealing with him, not knowing how much her life will change in the process. The only thing she wants is a better life for her and her boys. But when one thing leads to another, Diamond finds herself in a ton of trouble. The mess she gets caught up in leaves her asking herself, is everything I’m going through worth the money and materialistic things I get from him? Once she realizes it isn’t, it’s too late to change what is already happening.
